Configuring installation-wide user interface settings

The Meridian Project Portal user interface is very configurable. Some of its configurable aspects are:

Localization
Functionality
Colors
Document list filters, sorting, and layout
Search scope

User interface settings can be specified at the installation level to apply to all workspaces, at the workspace level, and at the user level. System administrators can view and edit the user interface settings at each level. User interface settings can be configured by each user as described in the BlueCielo Meridian Project Portal User's Guide.

To configure the user interface settings for the entire installation:

In the Settings view, expand the name of the installation in which you want to configure the settings and select User interface. A page listing the user interface settings that apply to the entire installation appears.
Click or type options using the descriptions in the following tables. To change a color, click the color selector icon and select a color swatch or type a hexadecimal character color code in the appropriate text box. Empty text boxes will display the corresponding user interface element in black.
Click Save user interface. Your changes are applied and the Revert to the default user interface button appears. You can revert to the default settings by clicking the button.

Localization options
Option	Description
Locale	If supported by your installation, you can select a different language to be displayed by Meridian Project Portal.
Timezone	The time zone in which the user resides.
Short date format	How dates are shown, excluding the time. For information about the parameters used, see Date and time format parameters.
Long date format	How dates are shown, including the time. For information about the parameters used, see Date and time format parameters.

Toolbars and functionality options
Option	Description
Hide folder description in document list	Hides the Description folder property.
Open urls in new window	If selected, URLs will open in a new browser window. If not selected, they will open in the document list frame. Note The configuration of the user's web browser can also have an effect.
Open files in new window	If selected, files will open in a new browser window. If not selected, they will open in the document list frame. Note The configuration of the user's web browser can also have an effect.
Template set for use	The Meridian Project Portal user interface template set currently in use.
Default upload type	The default method for uploading files to Meridian Project Portal. Select Drag and Drop upload if the user often uploads more than three files and they seldom need to rename the files. Select Classic upload if the user prefers to select files using a browser dialog, seldom uploads more than three files at a time, or often needs to rename files.

Primary colors options
Option	Description
Link color	Workspace, folder, document, and file link text.
Primary color	Frame borders.
Secondary color	Section headers.

Document List Frame options
Option	Description
Page background picture	An image to show in the background of all pages.
Page background color	The color to show in the background of all pages.
Title background	The background for documents in the default document list and field names.
Value background	The background for files in the default document list and field values.
Header background	The background for the top frame, table headers, and property page sections.
Folder color	The secondary color of the top frame and the folder header background.
Document color	The background of the document summary field.
View only documents of specified status	Filters the Documents list on the selected status.
View only documents of specified type	Filters the Documents list on the selected type.
View only documents of specified relevance	Filters the Documents list on the selected relevance.
View only document versions	Filters the Documents list on the selected versions.
Sorting order	Sort order of the Documents list based on the value selected for Sort view on attribute.
Sort view on attribute	The property upon which to sort documents in the Documents list.
Search scope	The default scope upon which to limit searches.
Default listing format	The listing format of the Documents list.
Keyword search scope	The default scope upon which to limit keyword searches.
Keyword search status filter	The status value in which to limit keyword searches.
